The chairman of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, Mufti Nuriddin Khaliknazarov, the head of the Public Charity Foundation "Vaqf", Yahya Abdurahmanov, regional officials and other guests attended the opening ceremony of the mosque, which was reconstructed by the Public Charity Foundation "Vaqf" in cooperation with sponsors.
The Yusuf Mosque was built in 1993 with the help hashar (collective work), its building had become obsolete over the past years, and it was ruined completely by the floods when the Sardoba Reservoir burst last year.
Reconstruction of the mosque building began in June 2020 with the involvement of sponsors by the Public Charity Foundation "Vaqf". At the moment, the mosque has been completely renovated. 750 people can pray in the main prayer hall of the mosque and 1000 people in the porch. The building is 24 meters long and 18 meters wide. The mosque also has a 19-meter dome.
Adjacent to the mosque, a modern ablutions room with all conveniences, a reception room for citizens, separate rooms for imam-khatibs and imam-naibs have been built. The territory of the mosque has been beautified, fruit and ornamental trees and flowers have been planted and it has become a complex with a special spirit.
May Allah reward all those who have contributed and prayed for this good deed with the palaces in Paradise!
