Today, the Public Charity Foundation "VAQF" is implementing major projects in various areas. Along with charitable activities, work on the disposal of waqf property, Foundation "VAQF" is actively contributing to the development of pilgrimage tourism in Uzbekistan.

Pilgrimage tourism is important in further enhancing the image of our country in the world, visiting our Holy land by millions of Muslims, where great scientists and thinkers lived, and studying our Islamic heritage. 

Realizing this, the Fund's management first of all took part in the creation of the necessary infrastructure for tourists in our country. Attention is paid to the repair and improvement of places of pilgrimage, construction of mosques, reconstruction of existing mosques. As a result, favorable conditions will be created not only for the residents of our country, but also for tourists from Muslim countries.

Currently, the Fund has 189 shrines and 1.5 billion soums were spent on reconstruction, improvement and creation of conditions for these shrines in 2018, and 6.5 billion soums in January-May 2019. As can be seen from the above figures, the Foundation pays special attention to the creation of facilities for pilgrims in places of pilgrimage.

The foundation also carries out practical work related to the construction of new mosques, repair of prayer halls and premises for ablution of mosques in Kashkadarya, Samarkand, Surkhandarya and Navoi regions.

Attracting sponsors the foundation is building the mosque "Chim" of Kamashi district of Kashkadarya region, the mosque "Sarikul" of Nurabad district of Samarkand region and "Yastepa" of Taylak district, the mosque "Chuya" of Nurata district of Navoi region. To date, the Foundation and sponsors have allocated funds for the construction of these four mosques.

In addition, for the purposes of pilgrimage tourism, the hotel "VAQF" in Termez is organised for tourists visiting Surkhandarya region. To date, this hotel is under construction, capital repairs and refurbishment of the hotel building as a hotel were spent at the expense of the Fund and sponsors. This hotel is located next to Hakim at-Tirmidhi shrine.

Allah says in the Holy Qur'an: "So whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it," (Surah "Earthquake", verse 7). May every donation made by our generous sponsors for the sake of Allah's contentment be accepted.
